It’s amazing how little things can make a world of difference. For example, purchasing a specific k-cup for the office or making sure the snacks that are provided are on a healthier side. Team members are more likely to be productive when they are not only happy but when the little things are paid attention to.
As a new team member to a growing company, fitting into a company culture, understanding processes and procedures and realizing sometimes it’s the little things are all a part of my new position. At Franco, it’s the details that matter.
Tips to Make Team Members a Team
- Communication. Internal communication is important to help team members let their voice be heard. Having an open door policy or a suggestion box are some ways to help.
- Employee Camaraderie. Celebrate the successes, birthdays and the little things such as an employee winning an award outside of work, an announcement of a baby or engagement. It’s important to be recognized and supported in all aspects of life from co-workers.
- Work hard and play hard. Team work is extremely important especially when everything else falls into place. Knowing work weeks tend to be longer than 40 hours it’s nice to be rewarded with team outings after work.
It all stems back to the little things. Does your company think of the little things?
