The Social Visionary

Marcela Sifuentes is an integrated communications coordinator with a passion for impactful projects that make a difference for various communities. She is an experienced storyteller in the nonprofit space, looking at every piece of content as an opportunity to creatively communicate the message or call to action at-hand. Marcela provides social media and digital support to some of Franco’s nonprofit, municipal and B2B clients.

Before joining Franco, Marcela served as the public relations and communications manager at Sanctum House where she honed her digital communications skills supporting the nonprofit’s newsletter, email marketing and social media channels. She also served as the development intern for the Detroit Riverfront Conservatory, where she fell in love with Detroit and the Dequindre Cut – her favorite spot in the city.

To Marcela, every day is a new start and a chance to inspire others and find new inspiration. She lives by the quote: “Every day we are presented with two choices: evolve or repeat.” Her optimistic mindset and desire for forward motion are exemplified by her professional involvement serving as Treasurer of Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and being an active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. In addition to her full-time work at Franco, Marcela is pursuing a Master of Public Administration in nonprofit organization management from Oakland University.

Marcela graduated from Oakland University (OU) with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism with a minor in public relations. She was a recipient of the Black Girls Rock Award during her time at OU, recognizing her exemplary service, leadership and professionalism.
