It’s no secret this year was unique, but that didn’t stop our Franconians from working hard, making strong connections and serving our clients. From pre-pandemic client visits to pivoting to virtual interactions, our people were on-the-go (safely, of course!). Here are some 2020 highlights:
Jet Setting to Visit Clients
All the way back in January, Tina Kozak and Nikki Little jumped on a plane and flew to New York City to visit our clients at automotiveMastermind before seeing Oprah LIVE in Brooklyn!
Client visits didn’t stop there! That month, Tina Kozak also traveled all the way to Florida with Rachel Burnard and Erica Swoish to visit some amazing service dogs and kick off our work with, Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs.
Networking (In Person!)
Prior to social distancing, Mallary Becker, Joelle Kruczek, Tracy Wolf, Lauren Connor and Samantha Meyer all represented Franco at a networking event with Detroit Young Professionals at Detroit Vineyards.
Salvation Army Bed and Bread Radiothon
In February, our nonprofit team was Doing the Most Good at The Salvation Army’s 33rd annual Bed and Bread Club Radiothon. The team attended the 16-hour event and helped the nonprofit raise more than $1.6 million to fight hunger and homelessness in metro Detroit.
We even hosted The Salvation Army’s National Commander at the Detroit Harbor Light to have him learn more about the Bed and Bread Program.
Valentine’s Day Pizza Eating Contest
Our Buddy’s Pizza team hosted a Valentine’s Day pizza eating competition at the downtown Detroit location where couples had to eat an entire four-square pizza with no hands! The winners won free Buddy’s Pizza for one year.
Harbor Light Volunteering
For our first (and last) Franco Frolic this year, the whole team volunteered at Salvation Army’s Harbor Light to help with the Bed and Bread program. Our team broke records and made more than 3,000 sandwiches to feed our Detroit neighbors in need.
Mentoring Students Across Michigan
Our team networked with students from Michigan State University at the beginning of the year. And as the year went on, we connected with the PRSSA chapters from Wayne State University, Eastern Michigan University and Oakland University both in-person and virtually. Students learned more about our team, agency life, tips and tricks on how to apply for a job and more.
Hosted MANY Grand Openings
This year we had to change plans for numerous grand openings, but despite the pandemic, we helped (safely!) open more than five locations (restaurants, bakeries and more) for our clients across the state, including three Buddy’s Pizza restaurants and the re-grand opening of Dakota Bread Company under the new ownership of Friendship Circle.
Holiday Party
We ended the year on a positive note with our annual holiday party. Our team bundled up and took a tour of Greenfield Village’s holiday lights!
This year certainly hasn’t been easy, but we are very proud of the great work and collaboration between our Franco team members and our clients. Subscribe below to our blog and monthly newsletter to stay updated on what we have in store for 2021.
