Most automobiles are well-traveled machines, just like the automotive team at Franco! Our automotive clients take our team from shore to shore across the United States and through Canada to attend events and talk to automakers and media representatives near and far.
From the steel in your car’s chassis and the material of your soft-top convertible to the speakers and stereo system on the dash and even the sales systems at the dealership, Franco has a broad array of experience in the auto industry thanks to our awesome clients.
Here’s a small snippet from the long list of locations our team has traveled to with clients:
Midwest
North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, Michigan: This event is big for the Franco team considering it’s right in our backyard. The Steel Market Development Institute (SMDI) has had a large presence at the show during press and industry preview days since 2014. The entire SMDI account team heads to Cobo Center for a week in January to support SMDI’s efforts. In previous years Franco has also worked with Plastic Omnium and DENSO during the show. The team helped by coordinating press conferences, executing social media and influencer campaigns, meeting with media and hosting interviews, designing exhibit space and collaborating with each client before the show to help their vision come to life at Cobo.
Chicago Auto Show: Known as the largest and longest running auto show in the United States, the Chicago Auto Show takes over McCormick Place every February. The automotive team sets up onsite to support SMDI through media relations as well as to attend press conferences to see the latest vehicle unveils.
East Coast
Washington Auto Show in Washington D.C.: Held in the nation’s capital, the Washington Auto Show is a venue to showcase the newest vehicles as well as to discuss the political policy surrounding the automotive industry. Franco’s auto experts spent their time in Washington D.C. supporting SMDI with their social media and media relations efforts while learning all about public policy.
New England Motor Press Association Ragtop Ramble in Boston: The Haartz Corporation, the world’s number one supplier of soft-top convertible material, makes their way around the country stopping at the many convertible-focused automotive events. The Ragtop Ramble brings glitz and glamor to the east coast featuring the top sports cars and convertibles. The auto team attended to support Haartz, and network with automakers and media representatives.
Southern Coast
National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Convention and Expo in New Orleans: Franco client, automotiveMastermind, a company that uses predictive analytics and big data to help car dealerships understand their customer’s buying habits, brought the Franco auto team along to help with media relations and exhibiting at the NADA Convention. The team got a little dose of early Mardi Gras celebrations and warm weather while they were there in January.
Southern Automotive Press Association (SAMA) Topless in Miami: From the east coast to the sunshine state, Haartz brought Franco along to attend this ride and drive event featuring all of the sexy hot rods with drop tops, the perfect place for Haartz!
West Coast
Northwest Automotive Press Association (NWAPA) Drive Revolution in Portland, Oregon: SMDI took their efforts to the west side of the country to attend Drive Revolution, a ride and drive event for journalists to test drive the latest electric and hybrid vehicles. The auto team helped SMDI educate journalists on the benefits of Advanced High-Strength Steel in vehicles while enjoying riding along.
Los Angeles Auto Show in Los Angeles, California: To kick off auto show season, Franco and clients head west to the big LA Auto Show for a first look at what will be big news in the upcoming year. Last year we coordinated an influencer campaign to highlight the steel vehicles announced at the show.

Canada
Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto: We can’t forget about our neighbors to the north when it comes to traveling from coast to coast! SMDI took the team to Toronto to get a closer look at the Canadian automotive market and connect with journalists on the other side of the border.
The wheels keep turning on the never ending travel expedition for the Franco automotive team. Who knows where you’ll find them next. What are your favorite places to travel for work? Let us know in the comments below!
