Franco Public Relations Group was recently recognized by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Detroit chapter during the 33rd annual IABC Detroit Renaissance Awards Ceremony. The Award of Merit in the media relations category was awarded to The Salvation Army Eastern Michigan Division account team for its work on the 2013 Red Kettle fundraising campaign.
The success of the campaign led to the nonprofit generating the largest fundraising amount in its 127 year history: $8,866,941. In addition to the comprehensive media relations campaign, the account team developed a social media component and assisted in event planning for the 2013 Red Kettle Campaign.
Throughout the 85-day campaign, more than 1,500 volunteers were recruited, more than $700,000 of in-kind goods were received, and Franco secured more than 500 print, broadcast and online placements, reaching more than 164 million potential donors.
Franco continues to work with The Salvation Army for its 2014 Red Kettle Campaign. Planning has begun, and with this award and our accomplishments behind our most recent efforts, we look forward to another successful Red Kettle season with The Salvation Army Eastern Michigan Division.
