How has September already come and gone? The weather might be starting to cool down, but our schedules are still hot! We were busy coordinating our fall wardrobes, putting our fowling skills to the test and discussing #PREthics. Here’s what the first official month of fall at Franco looked like:
Fell for Fall Fashion
Work it girl, give a twirl! Account Supervisor Andrea Kenski and Assistant Account Executive Dana Blankenship had fun coordinating fall fashion segments for Hour Detroit’s September issue at WXYZ and Fox 2 Detroit. The segments featured Hour Detroit’s fall fashion essentials – power suits, menswear-inspired accessories and monochromatic accessories.
Spent Saturday at the Stadium
Eat ‘em up, Tigers! Franco staff was on hand to support Comerica Bank’s Park Perks Season Finale Celebration on Sept. 29. Event attendees enjoyed a meet and greet with PAWS and tossed a baseball around with Tigers alumni. Additionally, they rode the carousel and took behind-the-scene tours of Comerica Park.
Prepared for the Holidays
You can almost hear the sound of bells ringing! The Salvation Army team (Left to right, front row: Digital Marketing Specialist Geoffrey Geist, Vice President Pat Adanti-Joy, Digital Account Executive Neekita Singla and Account Supervisor Andrea Kenski. Back row: PR Coordinator Tracy Sanfilippo, Senior Account Executive Jeff Sell and CEO Dan Ponder) participated in the nonprofit’s annual marketing meeting to share their PR/social media/advertising plans promoting the 2018 Red Kettle fundraising campaign.
Fowled for a Cause!
Franconians had a (foot) ball at Echelon Detroit’s inaugural fowling fundraiser at the Fowling Warehouse in Hamtramck. Funds raised went to The Salvation Army’s Bed & Bread program which helps provide meals and shelter to those in need throughout metro Detroit.
Met a Detroit Lions Legend
Account Supervisor Andrea Kenski met Detroit Lions legend and News/Talk WJR 760 Lions color commentator, Lomas Brown, at The Salvation Army’s annual Civic Awards Dinner. Held at the Detroit Athletic Club, The Salvation Army honors individuals, groups and corporations for their year-long support of the nonprofit’s critical social services and programs. Brown was this year’s keynote speaker.
Promoted #GiveAQuarterBack
PR coordinator Tracy Sanfilippo, helped coordinate an in-studio interview with Hospice of Michigan at WXYZ in Southfield. The nonprofit hospice organization recently launched its football-themed fundraising campaign. Give A Quarter Back is raising funds for the Open Access Program which provides hospice and palliative care services to anyone regardless of age, diagnosis or the ability to pay.
Discussed PR with CMU Students
Account Manager Ann Marie Fortunate traveled north to her alma mater Central Michigan University to talk PR ethics and agency life with Public Relations of Student Society of America students.
Played Host to the Radio Host Craig Fahle
Franco was lucky enough to spend an afternoon with Craig Fahle, the longtime Detroit radio host who’s now leading his own daily, live-streaming podcast The Craig Fahle Show. Our team heard about his professional journey and the various roles he’s had in journalism. In this role, Craig can have conversations with the movers and shakers of Detroit. Additionally, he can report on daily news impacting the city.
Attended TEDxDetroit
Senior Vice President Tina Benvenuti Sullivan and President Tina Kozak had the opportunity to attend TEDxDetroit and where they listened to inspiring presenters and even watched Dr. Kate Biberdorf, who’s better known as Kate The Chemist, breathe fire!
Hosted Detroit Free Press Editor Peter Bhatia
Our team was humbled to host Peter Bhatia, current editor and vice president of the Detroit Free Press. Peter shared his story of getting to Detroit and gave us valuable insight on how the newsroom operates. With nearly 50 years in media, his perspective and advice were greatly appreciated!
September came and went in a flash! Keep an eye out for what our Franco team is up to throughout October.
