Franco was founded 60 years ago on a deep commitment to excellence, and it’s the individual and collective efforts of our team who humbly carry on that legacy – whether they’re here today or have ventured on to new opportunities.

Our latest alumni spotlight during our year-long anniversary celebration is Lauren O’Brien, whose passion for Opportunity guided her throughout her time at Franco and continues to lead the way in her current role. Lauren dedicated seven years to Franco, starting as an intern in 2014 and continuing through 2021 as an integrated communications supervisor. In her time here, Lauren led a variety of B2C, B2B and hospitality accounts like Comerica Bank, J&B Medical, Northern United Brewing Co, the Eleanor Ford House and the GMRENCEN.

She is now the marketing manager at M/I Homes, where she creates and executes all marketing and communications strategies for her division, generating new leads for their sales team across nine communities in southeast Michigan. Discover Lauren’s Franco story and learn how it helped shape her into the professional she is today.

What did you enjoy most about working at Franco?
Opportunity. It’s still my favorite core value. You choose your path and leadership recognizes and embraces it.

What about your experience at Franco makes you more effective in your current role?
Franco provided me with the foundational skills I needed to be successful in my current role. I had the opportunity to lead integrated accounts across many industries which included all facets of the PESO Model – much of which I’m doing now. Without the experience, developing integrated strategies for each community and introducing our products to new markets would be much more challenging.

What is your favorite memory from your time at Franco?
This is tough for me. I had so many incredible moments at Franco, but probably witnessing the winners of the Comerica Hatch Detroit Contest hear their name announced to the crowd and learning they had just won $50,000 (now doubled) to open their brick-and-mortar business. That money changed their lives and has brought some of the best businesses to our community. I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to tell their stories and support Comerica and their mission to giving back to the communities they serve.

What do you feel makes Franco stand out from other agencies?
The strive for excellence. Tony said it best. It motivated me to pour my heart and soul into my clients. I loved working there and am so proud to be part of its legacy.
